Phoebe at Nine AND Ten Months

April and May have been crazy, so it took us a little while to get this post written. Here are some of the new things Phoebe has been up to:

• She now says cat, Dada, and as of Mother's day, Mama (though usually just when she's sad)
• She has two new teeth on the bottom and it looks like more are on their way
• As of her 9 month (more like 10 month) doctor's appointment she was 17 lbs and 28.75 inches 75th for height and 25th for weight.
• She stands for short amounts of time unassisted, until she realizes what she's doing and freaks out
• Fears and mortal enemies: the vacuum, washing machine, blender, and one very sinister crowing toy rooster.
• She went on her first hike and learned to wear a hat without throwing it to the ground and fell asleep in the baby back pack.
• Loving finger foods: steamed veggies, rice, turkey, bananas, grated apples, cheese, etc. She demolishes the teething biscuits I make her and wants to eat anything that is currently on my fork (including the formerly dreaded avocado, which she only ate from my salad, smothered in balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Weird). She's growing to be a bigger mooch than her Dad.
• Sleeping through the night! FINALLY!
• Wants to climb and be snuggled all the time
• Developing quite the pitching arm
• Lights up when her Dad comes home (she now recognizes the sound of the garage door is Dada)
• Loving other kids--sometimes too much.
• Wants to chase every dog and cat she comes in contact with
• Seems to be able to do all the "actions" in the Pat the Bunny book.
• Wants to dig the dirt with mama...and eat the mulch...we're working on that one.
• She wants to munch on my laptop whenever it's in my lap (or munch on my leg. No thanks, baby)
• She's learned to un-stack the wooden stacking rings and open/perch on all our drawers
• She's really frustrated by the baby proofing cabinet locks we installed that only allow her to open the doors about two inches (such a mean trick!)
• She's gotten very chatty with her toys and in her car seat.
• She has an amazing laugh that she is sharing with us all the time, and a very powerful high pitched screech that we hear all the other times.   

We just love watching our baby girl grow!
